John Jacob Tollefsen, President
Forensic Christian Scholarship
John Jacob Tollefsen, God-huntingSM Resources’ founding President, is a semi-retired lawyer, educator, businessperson, and professional investigator with over 50 years of experience as a business lawyer. His part-time teaching experience includes over 40 years of Bible instruction and more than 6 years of teaching business law and tax at the University of Washington Business School at the Bothell campus and the American Institute of Banking at a community college. For the past 10 years, he has concentrated on in-depth Bible study. This has resulted in his pursuit of Forensic Christian Scholarship.
Experienced Leadership
John believes he can apply what he has learned from his many courtroom trials and legal arguments to Christian apologetics. He also thinks that he has been led to this point through many challenges. His relevant experience includes serving as a CEO of an Internet content company, international business, non-profit work, and business training. In addition, he is a retired Certified Fraud Examiner and Certified Controls Specialist with over 50 years of experience in business disputes and complex financial litigation. He served as an Assistant Instructor in Forensic Accounting. In addition to his legal and business expertise, he holds multiple advanced degrees in theology and Christian leadership, including a master’s in theology and a Diploma in Christian Apologetics.
His Vision for this Website
John believes we are at an exciting point in the history of publication. We are seeing the transformation from print to digital publication. When writing developed over 3,000 years ago, it was nearly impossible for the average person to own a library. Even 1500 years ago the price for a good book was immense. For example, when around 331 CE Emperor Constantine I issued an imperial commission to Eusebius of Caesarea (as recorded in Vita Constantini (Life of Constantine), Book IV, Chapters 36-37) to produce 50 magnificent copies of the Bible on fine parchment by professional scribes it cost him $75 million to $150 million in 2026 US dollars, as much as $3 million for each Bible.
William Tyndale, in 1522, is quoted as wanting every “ploughboy” to have a Bible as a result of the Gutenberg printing revolution. In 2026, the labor-equivalent cost would be approximately $960 to $1,800 USD per Bible.
Isaiah 45:6, “… so everyone may know, from the rising to the setting of the sun, the only one God.” It struck me that we were now in times when this would be possible. We could carefully leverage technology to make this available for free on the billions of devices owned by people around the world.
Although John J. Tollefsen (JJT) is past retirement age in most people’s minds, he believes he can lay the foundation for a website that could serve as a research portal advancing Forensic Christian Scholarship. The site includes a library, organizing and making available the Bible and commentaries in the public domain. In addition, online courses, podcasts, and videos have made this fairly easy to do. Godhunting Resources is attempting to carry out this vision. We call this Forensic Christian Scholarship. Details of the concept are explained on separate pages of this website.
To accomplish this dream, John believes the organization needs to rely primarily on volunteers. He is working more than 50 hours a week in an unpaid position. Costs must be kept low so that the donation money is spent on the projects identified in our plans. The plan has been divided among the seven divisions listed below. Please take the time to visit each division and become familiar with their goals and progress.
