Academic Standards at Godhunter Academy
Godhunter Academy is an online school, and its courses are built so that a student who finishes one has worked through its material rather than skimmed it. This page explains how a course is built, how you are tested, and how you are graded.
How a Course Is Built
Every course has a textbook of ten chapters. Each chapter has four quizzes, so a course has forty in all.
How You Are Tested
Every quiz is an essay. You are given a question and write your answer out in full, as you would in a law school or university examination. The questions are issue-spotting questions: a good answer finds the issues the chapter raises and deals with each of them. The issues come from the textbook.
The quizzes are open book. We do not pretend that makes them hard. The value is in the work: going back through the chapter to find the issues and writing the answer out yourself is how the material stays with you.
How You Are Graded
You type your answer and press Send. Within about five minutes you receive your grade and a report on the issues you missed. The grade is given by an AI grader working from the course’s own list of issues, each weighted by the instructor. The list and its weights are kept private, so the grade measures what you found, not what you were told to look for.
A passing mark is 75 percent.
Taking a Quiz Again
You may take any quiz as many times as you like. The report on what you missed shows you where to look in the textbook, and trying again is part of learning it.
Grades, Transcript and Certificate
When you complete every quiz in a course, the course receives a grade: the average of its quiz scores, with a letter grade of C for 75 to 79 percent, B for 80 to 89, A for 90 to 99, and A+ for 100. Your transcript lists every course you have completed with its percentage and letter grade.
The Certified Godhunter certificate is earned by completing the fourteen courses of the program. It cannot be bought.
Your Textbooks
Each course has its own textbook. You can buy it with Solis, and it is then yours, kept permanently in your online library to return to whenever you like. You can also borrow it from the Solephia Library for two weeks at a time; a level-one library card lends one book at a time. Solis are earned by studying and by helping inside Solephia.
