Certified Godhunter℠
We offer free college-level courses leading to a certified GodhunterSM certification at GodhunterSM Academy. What is the catch? You must attend and pass 14 online courses. They are open-book, and you can take them as many times as you wish. You must pass each course one at a time to be enrolled in the next course at no cost. We also provide study resources, including a textbook and podcasts, at no cost.
The 14 courses must be taken in the above order which follows the membership levels described below:
Description of Membership Levels
A number of pages on the website are accessible without a password. As someone explores the website, they will eventually encounter a page that requires a password. The password is given to those who have a membership. There are many membership levels described below, and you may encounter pages that require a higher level of membership than you need. What follows is a description of how to climb the ladder of membership levels to obtain your free certified Godhunter certificate.
Membership levels are designed to provide an incentive for personal study. Students earn a full scholarship ($2,200 value in potential course fees) by maintaining passing grades (70%) and completing and passing free courses.
Visitor Membership
Visitor Member – the price level is set to $0. If you apply for a visitor password, the normal checkout procedure asking for a credit card is bypassed. You’re asked to provide a name (which could be an alias), a password, and then click a sign-up button. When you log in, you can go to your account page and make some decisions. One decision will be whether you want to be listed on the Visitor Members’ page.
Each type of member has a directory page listing all members of that type. Each member can opt in to the directory if desired. By opting in, you will be more visible in the community and may enjoy the camaraderie.
All Visitor Members are given free access to the “Hunting for God – Strategies for finding God” course. After receiving a passing grade in that course, the Visitor Member graduates to become a Novice Member. A certificate of graduation is automatically issued by email, and the Novice Membership begins immediately. Visitor Membership will be canceled if there is no activity for any two consecutive months. Cancellation for non-activity would not prevent the person from reapplying to be a Visitor Member.
Novice Membership
Novice Membership is free to those who take and pass the first course, “Hunting for God – Strategies for finding God”. If someone wants to bypass the first course, there is a $200 nominal fee to advance to Novice Member to discourage the purchase. The Novice Member has more access to website resources than a Visitor Member and receives free access to the Classical Theism and Resurrection courses. After receiving a passing grade in both courses, the Novice Member graduates to become a Sophomore Member. A certificate of graduation for each course is automatically issued by email, and the Sophomore Membership begins immediately afterwards. Novice Membership will be canceled if there is no activity for any three consecutive months. Cancellation for non-activity would not prevent the person from reapplying to start over as a Visitor Member.
Sophomore Membership
Sophomore Membership is free to those who take and pass the two courses given with novice membership status, “Classical Theism” and “Resurrection”. If someone wants to bypass these two courses, there is a $500 nominal fee to advance to Sophomore Member to discourage the purchase. The Sophomore Member has more access to website resources than a Novice Member and receives free access to six additional courses: Animism, Polytheism, Atheism and Agnosticism, Deism, Monism, and Dualism courses. After receiving a passing grade in all six courses, the Sophomore Member graduates to become a Candidate Member. A certificate of graduation for each course is automatically issued by email, and the Candidate Membership begins immediately. Sophomore Membership will be canceled if there is no activity for any three consecutive months. Cancellation for non-activity would not prevent the person from reapplying to start over as a Visitor Member. Sophomore Membership provides access to several additional pages and resources. Some download privileges are included.
Candidate Membership
Candidate Membership is free to those who take and pass the six courses given with sophomore membership status. If someone wants to bypass these six courses, there is a $1500 nominal fee to advance to Candidate Member to discourage the purchase. The Candidate Member has more access to website resources than a Visitor Member and receives free access to the remaining five courses in the Certified Godhunting track: Panentheism, Henotheism, Pantheism, Process Theism, and Moral Theism. After receiving a passing grade in the remaining five courses, the Candidate Member graduates to become a Certified Godhunter Member. A certificate of graduation for each course is automatically issued by email, and the new Certified Godhunter Member receives the CGH Certificate. Candidate Membership will be canceled if there is no activity for any three consecutive months. Cancellation for non-activity would not prevent the person from reapplying to start over as a Visitor Member. Candidate Membership provides access to several additional pages and resources. Some download privileges are included.
